Empties!

Hello, hope your week's going well?
These are things I was about going to throw away so I thought I'd write a post on them and yes, there are 5 bottles of Rubicon and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Left to Right:

ASDA Extra Virgin Olive Oil
There are many uses of Olive oil e.g cooking, mosturizer for the body, shaving. I use this for my natural hair as it nourishes, moisturzes, strengthens and conditions my hair. It also helps to heal dry flaky scalp.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula
I use this every day after showering. There's nothing worse than dry skin, it makes my skin feel so tight so I breathe a sigh of relief every time I'm done applying it. I've already bought another one, no long ting.

Dove Maximum Protection Deodorant
I have a blog post on this deodorant which I will link here. It's simply amazing & there's no going back. Once you go dove, you fall in love.

Rubicon (5x)
I'm in LOVE with this fizzy drink as you can probably tell. For £0.89, I just can't resist! I only buy them when I have college on a weekday..does that help?

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
I use this to take my makeup off (duh) and it does wonders for my face. It restores, softens and smoothes the skin, contains no alcohol, no oil, no perfume and no colour. What more could a girl ask for? Diamonds

Bic Biro
Just thought I'd include this as I always lose my pen before the ink finishes. I'm incredibly proud of myself.

Viva by Fergie body spray
My mum got this for her birthday so I slyly took it from her just to to try it out. It's not my favourite scent for a body spray but it's decent.

Vaseline
I take Vaseline with me everywhere and if I don't I can always count on my friends to have some so when making friends make sure they carry Vaseline with them just in case you run out.  It's not a surprise that it's running out as I basically use it 5 to 6 times a day.

17 Photo Flawless skin primer
I've been using this primer since July - bearing in mind that I don't wear makeup everyday - and I can't complain. It's really soft on the skin and has the smoothest texture. Although it looks really small, it contains quite a lot a and I'm definitely picking another up when I can.

Rimmel London Day 2 Night Mascara
There was a massive rave about this mascara so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about! My ridiculously short lashes are lengthen by it so I can't complain.

Have you noticed that one bottle of Rubicon, the cocoa butter tub, the body spray and the skin primer don't have lids?
I always lose lids!

What have you used up?

Asos Midi Dress Wish List

Evening!
Did you all see James Arthur singing 'Let's get it on' to me last night?

I have a strong slight obsession with midi dresses so I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite dresses from Asos! Most of them are long sleeve bar one probably because it's chillier these days and because I don't own any.
These dresses would be great for Christmas parties or dinner or date nights!

(images from asos.com)

I love the cut out cold shoulders design on this dress! I can't really wear dresses with cut out on the stomach because I'd feel too uncomfortable so I think this is a subtle way to show some skin.

This is the only short sleeve dress. I love the lace insert on the back, it's sexy yet elegant.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks white is classy colour. I adore the boat neckline, the gold embellished detail adorned on the shoulder and the scoop design on the back. I'm so clumsy so I'd have to be careful not to stain it which would be difficult. It goes without saying but the right underwear would have to worn with this dress so no pink and white love heart knickers!

Burgundy is my favourite colour, not just in autumn but for all seasons so there was no way I wouldn't have included this dress. I like the lace insert on the front and the back and the sweetheart style.

This dress is the same one Nicole Scherzinger is wearing here and it looks amazing on her! I saw this on Asos and called Nicole up to tell her she'd love it haha I love that it's long sleeve and turtle neck. The print is bold and very 'in your face'.

THis is similar to the one above, except it's plain back.I feel that this is the kind of dress that looks good on it's own with Vans but can also look marvellous with a nice blazer; statement earring or belt or necklace; killer heels.

Which is your favourite?

I've got my tissue and I'm ready to watch Suprise, Suprise.

Rimmel London Starry-Eyed 128 Lipstick

Hello people! It's my favourite day of the week once again!
How has your week been? :)

I went into Superdrug looking for The Kate Collection 107 Rimmel lipstick (here) with no luck whatsoever. I checked in Boots, the Rimmel stand at Morrison but it wasn't meant to be so I decided to pick up Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 128 Starry Eyed (here). Literally, The next day, I saw the 107 one I was initially looking for. Don't you hate it when that happens?

I love this lipstick so much! It's a bit lighter than what I'd normally go for; to be honest, I bought it thinking it was much darker than it is.
On lighter skin tones, this may look a bit daring but on me, I think it looks safe.

Rimmel says: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 128 Starry Eyed is specially formulated to make touch ups a thing of the past designed to last up to fifty percent longer than the average lipstick boasting up to 8 hours staying power.
Smooth creamy texture for comfortable wear all day long and an easy application.

I totally agree! It is very creamy, moisturising and it smells so so good! I'm not even going to attempt to describe its smell  so take my word for it.
I don't have to keep applying it when I'm at college (even after I've had my lunch) so I would totally agree that it's long lasting.

This is the first Rimmel Lipstick I've ever tried, and I will most definitely be going back for more! At £4.99, it is totally worth it and when this runs out - because I'm wearing it almost every day - I'll absolutely repurchase!
I couldn't recommend it more.

Have you tried Rimmel Lipsticks?

OOTD | LOUD Red

Hellllooo! I will apologise for two things before we get on with the post. The very annoying piece of paper next to my feet and the quality of these pictures.

Earrings: store in Berlin
Jumper: Charity Shop
Jeans: H&M
Flats: New Look
Bag: Zara
Lips: Rimmel Starry-Eyed

Today, I went to see Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. It was quite good, I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it but I will say there's a twist at the end. ;) The second Taylor Lautner appeared on the screen, I was chanting "TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF!" just me? ..oh

I absolutely love this jumper; it's so big, warm, cosy and very different to any other jumper I own. It's a little bit big for me which makes it slouchy and casual and I always get compliments whenever I wear it.
In Autumn we tend to wear a lot of greys and blacks,  this outfit is more of a statement as the jumper is 'loud' and the jeans are red so it immediately stands out. To sum up, I'd be very easy to find if you lost me!

Have you seen Twilight?

Tips for Revising!

(images from weheartit, edited by me)

As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, it is of the utmost importance that I do well in my exams. I'm sure I'm not alone and there are loads of people in college who need to do well at A Level or GCSE for many different reasons so here are some of my tips that I think have helped/are helping me and I think could be beneficial to you. This is what works for me, it might not work for you.

Have a revision timetable. This is so so important because sometimes I get lost and revise the same thing over again when I should be studying a variety. For example, I study Law. In January, my exams will be on arrest, bail, sentencing etc. I need to know every detail about them so well that I'm able to quote them in my sleep so on my timetable, instead of just writing Law, I write 'Bail'. This allows me to focus on that specific part of Law until I know it well enough move on. Hope that made sense?

Have one thing out at a time. Try not to have all coursework, notes, revision guides, files of every subject you're doing laid out in front of you because it could be really overwhelming.

Figure of what type of learner you are. Some people are visual learners who learn through reading or pictures, then read-write learners who learn through reading and writing, others are auditory who learn through listening and saying, and lastly kinesthetic who learn through doing things and moving around. This can really help to boost your grades. I'm a read-write learner; I find it easier to remember things when I write them down.

Have something to look forward to. I know that on a Monday when I've finished revising, I've got Eastenders to watch and I'll curl up on my couch eating strawberry laces!
Another example is that on Wednesdays, I finish college at 1pm instead of 4pm so sometimes I'll go to the library then look forward to when I go to the cinema later in the evening. Orange Wednesdays ..because times are getting hard. This can really motivate you to just give it your all at that moment and then chill after.

Be realistic. Don't say you're going to revise for 4 hours straight because it's really unlikely that you will be able to concentrate for that amount of time.

Plan ahead. If you know you have a Saturday job and you work from 10am to 7pm, you're very unlikely to revise that day so it's better to know when you can and can't revise.

Take breaks in between. The brain needs time to chill itself.  After a long while, you might not take things in so it's good to just chill for a 15 minutes, not 3 hours and then fall asleep..story of my life!

Have fun. Don't revise every single night or every single moment you have free. At least have one night where you don't do any revision or you don't revise for the amount of time you normally do.

Pray. It's God who has helped me through my previous exams and He's the one who I know will help me through the January ones. Simple as.

Do you have any more revision tips? I'd love to know them.
Now I'm going to practise what I preach and go and revise!
Wish you all the best with your exams.

Song/Videos of the week!

Ginette Claudette - Fade Live Cover

This girl is amazing! She only had to sing the first line of this song and I was hooked. She's also absolutely beautiful! Listened to this about 20 times just today.

Ed Sheeran - Give Me Love

I've listened to this song so much this week after he performed it on X Factor last Sunday! He's a genius and so humble! He doesn't even look like he's trying when he singing. LOVE him.

James Arthur - Faded

I'm a massive fan or James Arthur! You can tell he puts his all into every song he sings, he wrote Faded him self also. I can never decide between him, Ella and Jahmene as to who I want to win! Rylan's reaction  would be epic if he won though wouldn't it?!

Adele "Skyfall" Eargasm by The Mad Violinist

I've never heard anyone play the violin like this before. WOW!

OOTD | Primark Dress

Dress - Primark
Earrings - Dorothy Perkins
Tights - H&M
Coat - H&M
Belt - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Lips - Topshop 'Beguiled'

Is it just me or are the weeks going by faster and faster?
I know it's kinda cliché to say this but where has this year gone?!
&
I just realised my exams are in less than two months! eeek!

Yesterday, I went into Primark and came across this gorgeous dress. It's blue and white and spotty. 3 things I love in one dress, it would have been rude to not pick it up.
I love the neck line, it's not too high or too low and it shows some neck cleavage which is always flattering on me.
Yes, I did just say neck cleavage.
I also love the back, it's low but not too low that it shows my bra which is also flattering.

It's a skater dress so I could wear something else on top transforming it into a skater skirt!

And guess how much it was? £5! It was on sale down from £10. Primark are doing sales on a lot of their dress as summer & autumn are well and truly over now.
As the belt looked really cheap and unflattering, I put this New Look belt on. I also wore my H&M coat because I didn't want to freeze to death?

I also got a few compliments from my friends at college, just goes to show that you don't have to be wearing the most expensive things to look good.

I'm so excited to watch Children in Need tonight, X factor, Take Me Out and all the fantastic shows on this weekend!
My weekend start right here ;)

How has your week been?

Clean & Clear blackhead clearing scrub

HELLLO, hope you're having a good week so far!

I have been using Clean & Clear blackhead clearing scrub (available at Superdrug, link HERE) for the past week and I can honestly say it's been working very well on my skin. I don't have acne or bad blackheads but I just wanted to have clean & clear skin - pardon the pun ;) - by eliminating the ones that I do have.

Like it directs, morning and night I wet my face after taking of my makeup (if I have any on) and then apply it. I usually put a little bit on my left palm and then use my right hand to apply it to my face as I get really scared that it might go in my eye so I'm cautious.

It contains Chamomile Extract which contains soothing, anti-irritant alpha bisabolol (The active ingredients in Chamomile, reduces puffiness also restores and repairs skin.)
It also contains Jojoba oil which is a natural extracted liquid wax from the jojoba plant. This natural oil is excellent for the skin and hair. It is superior to other skin and hair oils. This mild oil is a natural moisturizer that absorbs quickly into the skin.

It doesn't dry my face out, infact it feels very moisturized and in the morning, my face is very clear.
I think when using this, you have to make sure that the other things that touch you face are clean. Towel, makeup brushes etc because there's not much point washing your face with and then adding on the bacteria again with these items.

After applying, I can feel it on working on my skin as it starts to sting, nothing too painful though. I can feel the special exfoliating micro-beads working. I leave it on, have a little sing for about 30 seconds, wash it off and then dab my face off with a towel.
Although, it isn't over-drying, I still mosturize because my skin can get really dry. I've noticed the difference in my skin, in that it feels so much more softer!
My skin feels extremely soft before I go to bed and and when I wake up in the morning.

It smells fresh like kiwi or cucumbers, I'd say!

I want to try out more skin products for clearer skin so if you have any suggestions, lemme know!

Bullying | My Story

Bullying  is the use of force or coercion to abuse or intimidate others. Bullying consists of three basic types of abuse – emotionalverbal, and physical. It typically involves subtle methods of coercion such as intimidation.

My Story

When I was in year 7 and 8, I was bullied. There were these 3 girls who were really quite mean to me, they journeyed with me to school every weekday  and they'd put their bags next to the free seat next to them so I couldn't sit down, laugh and even hold their noses sometimes as I walked past.
I vividly remember crying all through the 30 minute journey to my school one time because I was sat next to one of the girls so she wrote 'Help Me' on the window of the bus. As you can imagine, I was very upset. I'd go to bed dreading waking up the next day because I knew I'd have to get the bus but on the bright side, I'd see my friends after the awful trip.

I spoke to my head of year at the time which resulted in her giving me a designated seat on the bus to stop them preventing me from sitting next to them. I'm not going to lie, it got worse. Although I could happily sit in peace on the bus, they'd still taunt me when they came on the bus with dirty looks. Once when I felt a little more confident, I decided to move a seat or two back and one of them told me to go back to the other seat. It really was horrible.

I didn't feel like nobody at my school liked me because I had friends in the school, it was just the journey to and from school that was difficult for me to handle.

Luckily, in year 9 it stopped because one of them left after year 11, the other travelled on a new bus and the last stayed on the same bus as me but she was powerless without her gang. This saying "united we stand, divided we fall" is really fitting for this situation!

Now?

I'm glad I went through it because it makes me empathize so much more with people who are going or have gone through the same thing. It also keeps me grounded because I remember that I'm not more important or "cooler" than anyone else and I shouldn't make anyone feel the way I did.
I'm also glad that I endured it because I can talk to people who need a chat or advice. It always easier to suggest different ways to handle something when you've actually been through it, you see everything in a totally different way.

At that age when you're so young everything and everyone else seem so much more bigger than you? For example, when I was in year 7 the people in year 11 scared me a lot because they were so tall and superior (in my eyes) but when I was in year 11, it was weird to think that I'd been so terrified before.

My Advice

Talk to someone. A teacher, a loyal friend or a parent or all of the above! Don't keep it bottled inside.  A problem shared is a problem half solved. Sometimes it's good to just let it all out to someone and let them know what you're going through.

It does get better. This period of hurting won't last. I remember what happened but I don't think about it a lot because it's so far in the past.

Spend time with your loved ones. I  loved getting to school and being able to laugh with my friends and just enjoy the moment and forget about those girls.

Do things you enjoy.  I love singing and singing made me have some self worth. I didn't feel so bad about my self because I knew I could do something well.

Forgive. If you've been through it and come out a stronger, better person, forgive and forget about those people. I've forgiven those girls now because it was so long ago and what they said about me then didn't/doesn't define my whole life. We're all humans and we all make mistakes. Honestly, I think if they knew how upset I felt about it they probably wouldn't have done it in the first place.

Use your words wisely. No one is perfect and we all say things we don't mean from time to time or we blurt them out in a way we didn't mean to. I'd say just talk to the person and let them know you didn't mean what was said in a rude way which means that more misunderstandings will remain just that, misunderstandings.

HERE is a website which has a lot of helpful anti-bullying links for both young people and adults.

Review | Topshop Lipstick 'Beguiled'

Hello people!  It's friday, friday! Gotta get down on friday..
anyhoo
You may or may not know that Topshop brought out their own makeup range in 2010. They provide lipsticks, eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner, mascara, nail polish bronzer etc.
I went into the Topshop on Briggate, in Leeds which is the third-largest Topshop in the UK! Fact of the day right there.

I've been eyeing up this lipstick for a while now so a few days ago I decided to just go in there and buy it.
I was torn between getting 'Beguiled' or 'Lips in Inhibition' because they both looked good but I didn't want to buy them both as I've never bought a Topshop lipstick . The woman at the makeup stand kindly put them both on for me and let me decide.
'Beguiled' was the chosen one! I make it sound more serious than it is.

It is a beautiful, creamy plum colour which I'm in love with! I personally prefer to wear these types of colours compared to bolder colours like red lipstick as I feel this looks more casual on me whereas red lipsticks  make me look like I'm trying too hard especially for college, does this make sense or is it just me?

The lipstick glides on easily, it doesn't dry out my lips and it's very buildable. The packaging of the lipstick is light and sturdy however it's cream so foundation on fingers could easily stain it. It clicks shut so I know that it's fully closed and it's not going to smear on other items in my bag.

It's £8 which is quite pricey for a lipstick from the high street (I got 10% off and bought it for £7.20 as I had a student discount card) but I think it's worth it because it's better to buy one good quality 'expensive' (I realise that things can be expensive for one person and cheap for the other) lipstick rather than 4 bad quality lipsticks that I complain about every time I wear.

I love everything about this lipstick and I have a feeling I will be wearing it a lot this winter!
Have you tried any of the Topshop lipsticks?

Have a fantastic weekend.

Songs/vidoes/films of the week!

Skyfall trailer

S KY F A L L. Need I go on? I've not seen any of the Bond movies and I wasn't sure what to expect and I was so, so pleasantly surprised! Daniel Craig's cool, calm and collected. If you haven't seen this, I highly recommend that you do.

One Direction - Little Things

Who can resist a bit of One Direction eh? This song is too cute! Harry's voice is WOW.

Tyrese - Stay

This is an old song, can't believe I've never heard it. I can't stop listening to it now!

Smile/Better is one day -Jonathan Nelson feat Purpose
My sister is getting tired of me putting this on every day but I love it and it's a great way to help me worship.

Think like a man trailer
I've watched this film twice this week because I really, really, really love it. Micheal Ealy is an incredibly handsome man.

Look beyond what you see

I know I'm 16 but I feel like I have been through some emotional times in my life and today I'm going to write about a little chapter of my life.

About a year and a half ago, I thought I was going through a really bad time of my life.

I'd been involved with this guy who - although no one is perfect- seemed perfect for me. Now, I'm the kinda girl who's a hopeless romantic. I love romantic films, cheesy songs and things like that.  When I met this guy, we clicked immediately, we seemed to just get on;he made me laugh and was very easy to talk to. He came to my church and our parents were friends so why not make a go of it right?

We never actually dated but after about 2 months of talking, flirting and whatnot, he called things (whatever this 'thing' was) off and I was devastated. You know that feeling of your heart sinking every time you remember something bad?
That's how I felt everyday for a long while and almost every morning I'd wake up feeling very sad.
He obviously moved on and I felt jealous.

I know God gets me and he knows that that guy wasn't the guy for me.

When I looked deeply into the situation, I realised that although he was a good guy we weren't meant to be. There were stuff that just didn't click with us and I realised I would have had to compromise some of my values for him.

Now when I look back, I'm glad he called things off, however at that stage in my life, I felt like it was him or no one else. Ridiculous right?!

This post is for mainly anyone around my age or younger who maybe have been through the same thing as me and it's just to say that you are going to look back in 5, 10 years time and think "why did I waste my time thinking about him/her?"

I do feel like I wasted a lot of time
upset thinking about what ifs? when I could have been doing things that made me happy like having more fun with my friends and not worrying about the situation so much.

I am still friends with this guy, we're obviously not best friends. It irritates me when people break up and start being negative about the other person because obviously they liked something about them to have been with them in the first place.

What happens now is all we see but there's a bigger picture.
