Review | Motel Hyacinth Jordan Jeans

Hellloo, it's officially half term which equals to me being in a great mood and I'm listening to Chris Brown so even better!

I looked on Youtube and blogger to see if anyone had made a video or written a post on these jeans, I couldn't find any so I thought I'd write one to aid anyone who's thinking of buying it.

I ordered these Motel Hyacinth Jordan Jeans from the Ark website HERE.
On the website & in the picture above, they look blue but the real colour is a dark purple.
When these jeans arrived in the post, I really loved them. I love the fit, the colour and the fact that they're high waisted and was so excited to wear them out.

Now I'm the kind of person that leaves the house at the very last minute. You know those people who stroll to the bus stop? That's not me.
I'm usually half running or speed walking so when I stepped out the house and found that these had lint on them, I was frustrated but I didn't have time to get changed so I had to go to college in them and for the whole day, I felt so self-conscious.

Lint is an accumulation of fluffy fibers that collect on fabric.
When you wash your clothes in a washing machine, tiny pieces of fabric on the clothes especially wool or cotton type, break off. These little pieces get stuck in the washing machine and then stick to your clothes during the whole washing cycle.

This is what usually happens however these jeans came this way as I didn't wash them before I wore them.
I do own a lint roller but it seemed like there was never-ending lint on the jeans.

Originally these were £44.99. Yes £44.99! Why on earth would any one buy it for this price? I luckily (or unluckily) got these for £15.30 as it was on sale but I've returned them now.
On the more positive side, they were really soft and very comfortable but I'd hope it'd be much better quality because of the brand and price.

The reason the jeans look blurry is because of the lint. They were really that bad.

Do you own Motel jeans?

8 months natural baby!

Hello, who enjoyed their extra hour of sleep this morning?
My question is, when the clocks go back at 2am and it becomes 1am, does whatever that happened in that hour not count? Did that hour really happen?...

I'm now 8 months natural! I did a post on my 6 months update which you can read HERE
I took my braids out 2 days ago. When I washed my hair, every time I looked at my hands, shed loads of it was coming out (pardon the pun) and I was disappointed because I thought I wouldn't see any growth.
However, in the end it looked okay and it did grow, thankfully.

Here are some pictures of how it looks styled featuring my sister.
I flat twisted my hair last night and took it out this morning which is why it's so curly.

Using Deodorant Is No Sweat

Today we're going to talk about the best deodorant I have ever used.
As we girls go through adolescence , we tend to sweat more which can be a big problem. Isn't sweat such a sexy topic?!

Dove Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Cream (here) is the answer to that problem.

It's available in three different flavours. Not flavours. Scents. Original, fresh pomergrante & lemon verbena and fresh cucumber & green tea.
I bought original, I think that was the first one I saw so I thought that was the only one available.

Dove says it..

  • Provides scientifically proven protection against wetness
  • Delivers all-day freshness through odour-fighting technology
  • Cares for your skin with Dove 1/4 moisturising cream
  • Features a significant fragrance to leave you feeling clean, fresh and beautiful

It is  a 48 hour protection deodorant which is best applied at night to the underarms before going to bed. The recommended dose is two clicks of the deodorant (for each underarm) It lasts all day even after having a shower!

The deodorant also doesn't leave white marks on my clothes if I put the right amount under my arms.
I really can't recommend it more! If you have problems with sweating and wetness under the arms this is the deodorant for you.
I love the scent and the way it dries really quickly so I can get ready immediately.

When you smell nice, you feel better and it can really give you that confident boost you need.
Although at £5.30 it is at the pricey side but it is totally worth it!

Have you tried this? What did you think?

MUA Lip Boom Review

Hello! Hope you're well?
I walked into Superdrug a few weeks ago and noticed that MUA (Makeup Academy) had their own stand. MUA is a cheap affordable brand with lipsticks, lip glosses blushers, eyeshadows, eye liners and lip liners for just £1! Needless to say, I was quite excited to see the new products they had to offer.
I noticed Lip Boom.

Alexandra Burke has teamed up with MUA to create Lip Boom.

It comes in eight shades chosen by Alex herself. L - R O.M.G, It's A Situation, Doin' Good, Cheeky!LMK (Let Me Know), Vibe, Bring It and OK.com (does anyone remember Alex saying this on x-factor?)

I bought It's A Situation which is a rich berry colour. It is a matte lipstick. The lipstick has a toned-down sweet smell compared to the highlighter which has a very sweet smell which I suspect other would find overpowering but I quite like it.

You can wear the lipstick alone for a matte look, or add the highlighter on top to make it glossy. Or you could just wear the highlighter, for a sheer pearly finish.
Karla Powell, Make Up Academy Make Up Artist suggests applying the highlighter on top of the cupids bow for a fuller top lip, or applying in the center of both lips for a plumped out full lip look.
I don't think my lips need to look any fuller or more plumped than they already do!

I love the packaging as it looks more expensive that it actually is. Although the packaging of the lipstick looks big, it is certainly small enough  to fit into my makebag or one of the side pockets in my bag.

The lipstick alone

The lipstick with one layer of the highlighter

The lipstick with two layers of the highlighter

I love the colour as it's very versatile. It can be worn on a casual day or a night out. However I detest the highlighter, I think it just ruins the beautiful lipstick underneath. The glitter in the highlighter is too big and it looks quite dreadful on me.

I also love that Alex & MUA have created a range of colour to suit different skin tones.
If MUA offered this colour on it own, without the highlighter I'd just buy it. For £3 only, I'd definitely purchase Lip Boom again, it's just a shame that that highlighter is useless to me.

As it is a matte lipstick, one thing I'd suggest is making sure that your lips are well moisturised before applying the lipstick as it can really dry out the lips which is not a good look!

Have you bought any of these? What did you think?

OOTD | Camouflaged Pink

Helloo :)
Please excuse my massively chipped nails!
As usual, I went to church today. I threw on my jumper which I love! I got it in the sale at Primark and I've got lot of  compliments on it.

I wanted to wear heels so I wore my comfiest ones from New Look, I also took my flats as usual because I had to get the bus home and I didn't want to break my ankle. Ain't nobody got time for dat!

Don't be deceived! Although the sun was shining, it was cold. I ordered my jacket from Boohoo.com. Army green is really on trend right now and it's different to any other coat I own.
It kept me warm however I wouldn't wear it when it's starts snowing!

My lovely sister took some pics, here they are!

My college experience so far!

Almost every weekday morning, I get so frustrated because I can never seem to find anything to wear! I turn my room and my sister's into a bombsite trying to find something that looks good but doesn't look like I've tried too hard!

So I've been at college for 5 weeks now. TIME FLIES! It's crazy how this time last year I was applying to get a place at my college and now I've spent over a month there.
I thought I'd just let you know how it's going because I know that you know that I know that you're dying to know.

Ordinarily, I start at 8:50am and finish at 4pm  which is a l o n g day but there's not really much I can do about it.

I chose to study Psychology, English literature, Law and Applied Business. In the first week of being at college, I changed my mind about each of the subjects but now I'm liking them all and prepared to put in the hard work but sometimes I can't handle the 2 hour double lessons and I always seem to fall asleep in them!

Applied Business is my favourite subject so far because I really like the people in the lesson, the teacher and it's just very comfortable as we basically use computers every lessons so it's more of a relaxed environment compared to my other classes.
I'm having a great time and enjoying the experience of a new environment a lot!

I'm very thankful for the amazing friends I already have because I don't think I'd laugh as much as I do if not for them, and I've already had some great memories with them after just 5 weeks.

OBVIOUSLY, college is about the work but y'know sometimes, you need a bit of eyecandy to keep you going..
So there's this guy I saw in the first week and when I saw him, everyone else disappeared and we began singing "We're soaring, flying..There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach"in my head
Anyone else love High School Musical 1, 2 AND 3? No? Just me...?

I'm so glad he's not in my lessons though because it's not my portion to fail my subjects!
And yes, I was very tempted to sing "HEY I JUST MET YOU! AND THIS IS CRAZY"..but I didn't.

One thing I am doing that I never really did when I was in lower education is revising as I go along because I really don't want to fall behind and January exams are not that far away!

There's not really much else to say for now.

Brandy - Put it down Choreo

Why can't I dance like this? So good!

This girl is just WOW! I've listened to quite a few covers of this song and she just sings in a way that so different and unique!

Labrinth ft Emeli Sande - Beneath your beautiful

I don't think Labrinth can help being so amazing! As soon as I heard this, I was lost in the music and Emeli Sande's doing her thing as well! I love the meaning behind the song, just totally amazing.

Simple maths, it all adds up!

I've never really seen myself as a "dumb" person.
Growing up, I've been known as the girl who loves maths & I do. However about a month ago, I received my GCSE results and I got a C in maths. Now I'm not saying this is a bad grade but I'm saying that I could/should have done better than a pass.
As a result of getting a C in maths, I can't study it at A level. To be honest, I thought my life had ended when I looked at the piece of paper with my results on. I felt like that piece of paper defined my life.

Two people close to me told me they were disappointed. They were disappointed because they know I could have done better. I've found that, you do need people who don't always tell you "It's okay" but people who'll tell you like it is to make you see things differently.
Obviously, it's not a great feeling when you feel like you've let everyone down which is why I'm glad I have the most amazing friends and parents who are there to encourage me and pick me up when I feel down! I felt like because I can't do maths for A level my life was over but it's really not. DUH.

 My life doesn't end here!
There are still so many other things I can focus on, especially the other subjects I'll be studying and of course, this blog. Truthfully, some aspects of maths I was doing at GCSE was hard for me, and maybe me getting a C is a blessing in disguise because maybe, just maybe I wouldn't have excelled in maths at A Level. I mean, just because I take it for A Level doesn't mean I'd have done well in it.
I was devastated when I didn't do as well as I thought I would but it's made me want to work harder at A Level. I want to do my friends and family proud. At the moment, I am still embarrassed to tell people my grade but I don't want to feel the same way in two years time so I gotta work hard!

I have to subtract fear, add hard word, multipy my faith in God and  divide my social life in half and forget about SOHCAHTOA. See what I did there? ;)

The fact of the matter is if you think you can do it then you most probably can. Don't let people bring you down.
Also, be careful who surround yourself with, if you associate yourself with people who don't dream big, who don't want to achieve anything in life then that's what your mindset will be like.

Aim high!

One Event, 6 dresses.

Hellooo, so last week Saturday I attended a Nigerian party. 'Attended' sounds like I went, and sat down and chilled but as a Nigerian girl, I had to help but I didn't have a choice mind. However just because my friends and I were helping, it didn't stop us getting glammed up in our own individual way. ;)

Ebony
Shoes - New Look
Dress - Ark, Hearts & Bows HERE
Earrings - Can't remember

You can't see it very clearly here but mid way through the dress, there's a see though lace bit. This is such an elegant way to show off skin without actually showing off too much skin. Absolutely Stunning!

Anjola
Dress - Specially made
Earrings - Primark

This is Nigerian attire and although attire is usually associated  with the older generation, it's great to put a spin on things and modernize it and she looked great!

Gracie

Grace looked beautiful at the party! The colour of her dress is burnt orange in case it's not clear. Look at her never ending slender legs!

Marvii

I love the way her hair compliments her dress and that grin is her best accessory! She just looks great, effortlessly!

Naomi Campbell

Burgundy, wine and berry are the most situated colours for fall so Naomi is right on trend.  How stunning does she look? Like a super model right? Nuff said.

Dress - Asos HERE
Earrings - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - New look

And Tosin, wow what can I say! JKS

This is again one of my Midi buys from Asos. Theses kind of dresses are a favourite of mine as I don't have to show off too much but it still doesn't mask my figure. Although, I took them off an hour into the party, I wore these shoes as they're the most comfortable heels I have.
Is my arm seriously this long?!

I love the way we all wore different styles, prints, lengths and material of dresses but we still looked good!

Much love for these girls & I hope you have friends in your life that bring you as much joy as these girls bring into mine!
