Haul!

Hello!

I have been shopping and I'm here with a haul, a smaller one this time so that makes it okay..?

Asos earings - £3.50  LINK

I adore these earrings! I bought them to put on when I'm running late for college as they're so simple! Each one goes with at least one thing that I wear so I never have to spend 10 minutes looking for earrings to match again. As you can see, they come in black, rose gold and gold. 

Asos dress £9

I bought this dress in the sale also, it's sold out as well. On the website it says it's red, however it is in fact orange! I think it compliments my skin so well and I can't wait to wear it n the summer. I forgot to take a picture of it but it has a back split at the back..haha which gets just up to the back of my knees.

Asos collar necklace - £7 LINK

I think we may need a moment of silence for this collar necklace. Don't you agree? 

When I saw it, I was like wow! I've never seen anything like it and then I thought why stop there, why not make more of a statement and get it in rose gold? That is exactly what I did and I love it. 

It is also available in gold and silver.

Sleek Foundation - £1.99

I bought this foundation for £1.99! It contains 35ml and comes with a pump. It ridiculous to think that I bought my Mac Studio Fix Fluid for £20 and that only contains 30ml and I had to pay an extra £3 for a pump! 

Sleek have launched a new foundation (I think) so these were on sale so I quickly snapped them up.

It's not the best, understandably but I prefer to wear this to college rather than my Mac one; at the end of the day, it is only college!

Daisy Street Jacket - £16.99

I had to do a whole seperate post on this jacket because I love it that much so I'll put that here.

Coconut lip balm - £0.99

I recently used up my tub of vaseline so I decided to put this lip balm which was only 99p! I love the smell of coconut and it is incredible moisturising on my lips. I put it before applying lipstick, there's nothing worse than dry lips! 

Wet n Wild lipstick in Sugar Plum Fairy - £1.29 LINK

I ordered this from eBay thinking it was a burgundy lipstick and I was disappointed when I realised it wasn't but I fell it love with it once I started using it. It is a pinky nude on my lips and I love wearing it as it doesn't look like I'm wearing anything at all! I never used to think a nude lip would suit me but  this lipstick has certainly proven me wrong.

New Look Hat - £5.00

I'm sure you've seen beanies everywhere now. My poor little ears are always suffering because of the cold so I'm happy I bought this hat. My mum has decided to steal it but I'll let her off (not that I have a choice seeing as I lost hers)

MUA Lip Boom It's a Situation £3 I really don't like the highlighter but the lipstick itself is really good and you're spoilt or choice with 8 shades to choose from. 

Topshop Beguiled £8 Beautiful wine colour on the lips, would look great on any skin tone!

MUA Shade £1 For a pound, you can't go wrong. 

Rimmel Starry Eyed £4.99 I love this colour! It's incredibly creamy and I find myself reaching for it everyday.

Statement Jewellery

These chains and earrings can really make an outfit so much so that you might not even need to wear any other jewellery. 

Choker necklace £1.99 Theses were from eBay, I can never seem to find them in H&M so I went to eBay!

 Republic Earrings £6  I fell in love with these as soon as I saw it in Republic and I can't wait to wear them.

Primark Necklace £4 This is from Primark.  I love the way it lays on my chest and just gives a dress that extra pizazz that it needs.

Earrings £7 Asos They may not look big in the picture but these earrings are massive! They're beautiful though. They are "I've arrived" earrings and no one can miss them.

Sleek Blusher These are good quality and there is such a wide range of shades so there will be at least one that suits you!

MUA Eyeliner Lovely Lilac and Royal Blue They add a pop of colour to the eyes. The royal blue is indeed very blue so if you'd prefer something more subtle then lovely Lilac is for you. 

Rimmel Day to Night Mascara £7.99 I love this mascara! I really can't fault it. 

MUA Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow pallet  You get 12 eye shadows for £4 and the pigmentation is amazing!

Rimmel London Starry-Eyed 128 Lipstick

Hello people! It's my favourite day of the week once again!
How has your week been? :)

I went into Superdrug looking for The Kate Collection 107 Rimmel lipstick (here) with no luck whatsoever. I checked in Boots, the Rimmel stand at Morrison but it wasn't meant to be so I decided to pick up Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 128 Starry Eyed (here). Literally, The next day, I saw the 107 one I was initially looking for. Don't you hate it when that happens? 

I love this lipstick so much! It's a bit lighter than what I'd normally go for; to be honest, I bought it thinking it was much darker than it is.
On lighter skin tones, this may look a bit daring but on me, I think it looks safe.

Rimmel says: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick 128 Starry Eyed is specially formulated to make touch ups a thing of the past designed to last up to fifty percent longer than the average lipstick boasting up to 8 hours staying power. 
Smooth creamy texture for comfortable wear all day long and an easy application.

I totally agree! It is very creamy, moisturising and it smells so so good! I'm not even going to attempt to describe its smell  so take my word for it. 
 I don't have to keep applying it when I'm at college (even after I've had my lunch) so I would totally agree that it's long lasting. 

This is the first Rimmel Lipstick I've ever tried, and I will most definitely be going back for more! At £4.99, it is totally worth it and when this runs out - because I'm wearing it almost every day - I'll absolutely repurchase! 
I couldn't recommend it more.

Review | Topshop Lipstick 'Beguiled'

Hello people!  It's friday, friday! Gotta get down on friday..

You may or may not know that Topshop brought out their own makeup range in 2010. They provide lipsticks, eyeshadow, highlighter, eyeliner, mascara, nail polish bronzer etc. 

I went into the Topshop on Briggate, in Leeds which is the third-largest Topshop in the UK! Fact of the day right there.

I've been eyeing up this lipstick for a while now so a few days ago I decided to just go in there and buy it.

I was torn between getting 'Beguiled' or 'Lips in Inhibition' because they both looked good but I didn't want to buy them both as I've never bought a Topshop lipstick . The woman at the makeup stand kindly put them both on for me and let me decide. 

'Beguiled' was the chosen one! I make it sound more serious than it is. 

It is a beautiful, creamy plum colour which I'm in love with! I personally prefer to wear these types of colours compared to bolder colours like red lipstick as I feel this looks more casual on me whereas red lipsticks  make me look like I'm trying too hard especially for college, does this make sense or is it just me?

The lipstick glides on easily, it doesn't dry out my lips and it's very buildable. The packaging of the lipstick is light and sturdy however it's cream so foundation on fingers could easily stain it. It clicks shut so I know that it's fully closed and it's not going to smear on other items in my bag. 

It's £8 which is quite pricey for a lipstick from the high street (I got 10% off and bought it for £7.20 as I had a student discount card) but I think it's worth it because it's better to buy one good quality 'expensive' (I realise that things can be expensive for one person and cheap for the other) lipstick rather than 4 bad quality lipsticks that I complain about every time I wear.

I love everything about this lipstick and I have a feeling I will be wearing it a lot this winter!

MUA Lip Boom Review

I walked into Superdrug a few weeks ago and noticed that MUA (Makeup Academy) had their own stand. MUA is a cheap affordable brand with lipsticks, lip glosses blushers, eyeshadows, eye liners and lip liners for just £1! Needless to say, I was quite excited to see the new products they had to offer.

I noticed Lip Boom.

Alexandra Burke has teamed up with MUA to create Lip Boom.

It comes in eight shades chosen by Alex herself. L - R O.M.G, It's A Situation, Doin' Good, Cheeky!, LMK (Let Me Know), Vibe, Bring It and OK.com (does anyone remember Alex saying this on x-factor?)

I bought It's A Situation which is a rich berry colour. It is a matte lipstick. The lipstick has a toned-down sweet smell compared to the highlighter which has a very sweet smell which I suspect other would find overpowering but I quite like it.

 You can wear the lipstick alone for a matte look, or add the highlighter on top to make it glossy. Or you could just wear the highlighter, for a sheer pearly finish.

Karla Powell, Make Up Academy Make Up Artist suggests applying the highlighter on top of the cupids bow for a fuller top lip, or applying in the center of both lips for a plumped out full lip look. 

I don't think my lips need to look any fuller or more plumped than they already do!

I love the packaging as it looks more expensive that it actually is. Although the packaging of the lipstick looks big, it is certainly small enough  to fit into my makebag or one of the side pockets in my bag.

 I love the colour as it's very versatile. It can be worn on a casual day or a night out. However I detest the highlighter, I think it just ruins the beautiful lipstick underneath. The glitter in the highlighter is too big and it looks quite dreadful on me. 

I also love that Alex & MUA have created a range of colour to suit different skin tones.

If MUA offered this colour on it own, without the highlighter I'd just buy it. For £3 only, I'd definitely purchase Lip Boom again, it's just a shame that that highlighter is useless to me.

As it is a matte lipstick, one thing I'd suggest is making sure that your lips are well moisturised before applying the lipstick as it can really dry out the lips which is not a good look!

High School Prom - Lady in Red

  On the 6th of July 2012, I attended my high school prom and it was amazing. It was good to see everyone that was there, the girls looked gorgeous in their dresses and the guys looked dapper in their suits and even the teachers looking gurrrd! 

I was an hour late(WHY MUST I BE LATE TO EVERYWHERE I GO?!)...fashionably late of course ;) Getting ready had taken longer than me and my friend Ebony had thought. In my defense, I was ready but Ebony's hair just would not curl. 

My Dress
My dress was made by a friend's mum who is a tailor and anyone who wants her number, feel free to ask!
I  was inspired by two lace dresses Kim Kardashian wore not too long ago.

I bought the lace material and the satin lining underneath for about £24 all together, it was then made for £30. The great thing about getting it especially made is that it was EXACTLY how I wanted it, and fitted to my shape and figure as sometimes when you buy a piece of clothing, it doesn't fit properly or it doesn't fit a certain part of the body. 

The lining of the lace started just on my chest and ended on my knees. From my knee downwards was lace only. 

JEWLERY & ACCESORRIES 

I decided to go with black and gold for my jewellery and accessories as I felt it looked good and matched my dress well and went with my shoes. Not wanting my nails to clash with the colour of my dress, I painted  my nails black.

Makeup

My makeup was done by my friend Grace and she did a brilliant job; when I saw my face at the end, I could not believe it was me. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT WAS.

For my hair, I used a hair donut like the one below that I bought from Primark for £1 with the help of two of my friends Grace and Victoria. It took a little while but we got there in the end and my hair stayed put all night, thankfully!

Beautiful girls at prom.

I had an incredible time at prom and even managed 

to get picture with people who might be famous in the long run a lot of my friends and it's a night I'll never forget!

One advice I'd give to anyone who'd got prom coming up is that you should try not shop for things too late. Most of the things I used was bought in the week of my prom and so it amounted to a lot of money and for that I'm so grateful to my mum. If I started shopping in May, there might not have been such a noticeable drop of money in my mum's bank account. haha. no seriously.
